With A Terrible Fate

The Drawing Board, Episode 1: The Origins of With a Terrible Fate

The following is an episode of The Drawing Board, a podcast by With a Terrible Fate that highlights the unstructured conversations about video games from which our analytical content is derived.

Welcome to the inaugural episode of The Drawing Board, a new podcast by With a Terrible Fate.

When I’ve previously written about the method of video-game analysis that we use on With a Terrible Fate, I’ve emphasized that the analytical article we publish all find their origins in the everyday conversations that every gamer has about the stories of the games they love, the games they hate, and simply whatever games they happen to be playing.

The Drawing Board is intended to capture those everyday conversations that sit at the beginning and heart of our team’s method. On this podcast series, members of our team (along with a wide array of guests) will be discussing everything from the state of video game discourse, to the games with which we’re currently obsessed, to the ins and outs of where With a Terrible Fate has been and where it’s headed.

I hope you’ll join us as the medium of podcasting meets With a Terrible Fate.

In this first episode, Dan Hughes and I introduce the series with a discussion about the origins of With a Terrible Fate: how it was born as a blog about Majora’s Maskand how it’s grown into what you see today.
